Traffic Skills 101 is designed to give riders the knowledge and confidence to ride safely and legally in traffic or on the trail. The course will teach you how to conduct bicycle safety checks, fix a flat, safe riding techniques and crash avoidance, and will include classroom time as well as substantial on-bike time. This class will be sponsored by the Health Department. We have room for only 10 participants, so please contact us soon to add your name to the list. Location: Houghton or Hancock (exact location TBD)
Date/time: Friday Oct. 18, 6-10pm and Saturday Oct. 19, 10am-3pm
Cost: Covered by the WUP Health Department
Equipment needed: Course participants will need a bicycle in good working condition, a helmet and a front light (state required for riding after dark). A rear light is recommended (If you do not have lights, please let us know). The course is intended to run rain or shine, so come prepared for the weather and bring snacks and water. In the event of snow or extreme weather the course will be held the following weekend.
